Cookie policy

Like most websites, Dodl uses cookies. Cookies are text files sent to your browser and which are stored on your computer. They let website content be arranged for you more quickly and let Dodl track how you use the website. The majority of cookies used collect information anonymously, but they’ll occasionally collect personal information, including your IP address.

The cookies used by Dodl:

  • Allow Dodl to monitor your activities on the website and mobile app and the pages you visit
  • Allow Dodl to track how you arrive at our website and whether you’ve visited it from making a search, clicking on an advert or using a link in an email
  • Allow Dodl to obtain technical information about how you use the website, including the devices used and their geographical location

Types of cookies used:

Session cookies are stored on your device only for the duration of your visit to the website or mobile app. As soon as you close your browser or turn off your device or close the mobile app, session cookies are destroyed. As a security measure, your online session will terminate after a pre-determined period of inactivity and all session cookies will be destroyed.

Persistent cookies remain on your device until they reach their expiry date (if applicable) or until you delete them. Once the cookie has expired or been deleted, it will be removed from your device. While a persistent cookie is on your device, it will be accessed each time you visit our website.

First party cookies are those set by Dodl, while third party cookies are authorised by Dodl but set by a supplier. Any third party cookies are only used for the purposes agreed with Dodl. They’ll never be used by the third party for any other purpose.

How we classify the cookies used:

Marketing cookies track how you arrived on the Dodl website – allowing tracking of visitor trends and the sites they were on before arriving at here.

Performance cookies, including those provided by Google analytics, track the number of visitors to the website and mobile app, how long they spend on the website/app, the pages they visit and the journeys they take moving around our website/app. These cookies also track the performance of pages, customers’ interaction with these and the options on them, and enable testing of different design and content on Dodl web pages. They also track the effectiveness of emails sent and how customers use the website when they’ve clicked through from an email campaign.

Web beacons:

Some emails Dodl sends you, and some pages on the website, may contain electronic images known as web beacons. These are used to track and assess the effectiveness of a particular campaign, and tell whether or not you’ve opened a particular email.  If you don’t want to receive web beacons, you’ll need to disable HTML images or refuse HTML (select text only) emails via your email software.

How you can manage cookies:

You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, so you can decide whether or not to accept it. You can find information about how to set your browser at the following websites:

It's important to know

You have to be a UK resident for tax purposes to open an account with Dodl.

The past performance of investments isn't an indicator of their future performance and their value can go down as well as up. This means you could get back less than you originally invested.

Dodl doesn’t offer any advice so if you’re not sure about the risks involved with investing, you should speak to a suitable financial adviser.

How you're taxed depends on your circumstances, and tax rules can change in future.
